Dominion SX16 and SX32 Terminal Ports
A modem should not be connected to the terminal ports on DSX16 and
DSX32 because the Ring Indicator (RI) signal is not present. These
models have a built-in modem that can be enabled or disabled. The
modem is disabled by default.
