Accessing Telnet from a Windows PC

To open a Telnet session from a Windows PC:
1. ChooseStartup>Run.
2. TypeTelnetintheOpentextbox.
3. ClickOK.TheTelnetwindowopens.
4. Atthepromptenterthefollowingcommand:Microsoft Telnet>
open <IP address>
where<IPaddress>istheDominionSXIPaddress.
5. PressEnter.Thefollowingmessageappears:Connecting To <IP
address>... The login aspromptthenappears.

IfyourDominionSXʹsterminalportusesanRJ45jack,aspecialcable
(CRLVR)isusedwithanASCSDB9Fconnectorontheclientmachine.The
CRLVRmayalsobeusedifRJ45RJ45connectiontolocalportis
established‐thatis,ifyouconnectthelocalportofaDominionSXde
vice
asaser
ialtargettoanotherDominionSX.
Port Settings
Ensurethattheportsettings(serialcommunicationparameters)are
configuredasfollows:
Databits=8
Parity=None
Stopbits=1
FlowControl=None
Connection

To make a local port connection:
1. OpenaHyperTerminalapplicationorequivalent.
2. EnsuretheHyperTerminalisconfiguredtocommunicatewiththe
portthatisconnectedtotheDominionSXunit.
3. DisableFlowcontrol.
