SSH Access from a UNIX/Linux Workstation

To open an SSH session from a UNIX/Linux workstation
and log on as the user admin, enter the following
command:
ssh -l admin 192.168.30.222
ThePasswordpromptthenappears.
SeetheLogin(onpage131)sectionfo
rlogininformation.
Telnet Connection to the Dominion SX
Duetothelackofsecurity,username,passwordandalltrafficisin
clear‐textonthewire,Telnetaccessisdisabledbydefault.
Enabling Telnet
IfyouwishtouseTelnettoaccesstheDominionSX,firstaccessthe
DominionSXfromtheCLIorabrowser.
CLI
1. Usethefollowingcommand:
Admin Port > Config > Services > telnet enable true
Thesystemreturnsthefollowingmessage:
The system will need to be rebooted for changes to take
effect.
Note:Bydefault,thetelnetportissetto23.Youmaychangeitby
issuingthefollowingcommand:
Admin Port > Config > Services > telnet enable true
port <preferred port number>
2. Rebootthesystem.
