Using the Local User Port
TheKXII‐101isavailablewithoptionalvideoandPS/2cablesthat
enableyoutoattachakeyboardandmousetothetargetserverthrough
theLOCALUSERport.TheLOCALUSERportservesasapass‐through
tothetargetservertowhichtheKXII‐101isattachedandha
snoother
purpose.TheKXII‐101mustbepoweredontousetheLOCALUSER
port.
Note:OnlyPS/2hostinterfaceconnectivityissupportedonthelocalport
andyoumustrestartthetargetserverafterconnectingtoKXII‐101using
PS/2connectors.
Configuring Network Firewall Settings
ToaccesstheKXII‐101throughanetworkfirewall,yourfirewallmust
allowcommunicationonTCPPort5000.Alternatively,theKXII‐101can
beconfiguredtouseadifferentTCPportofyourowndesignation.
InordertotakeadvantageofKXII‐101ʹsweb‐accesscapabilities,the
firew
allmustallowinboundcommunicationonTCPPort443‐the
standardTCPportforHTTPScommunication.Inordertotake
advantageofKXII‐101ʹsredirectionofHTTPrequeststoHTTPS(sothat
usersmaytypethemorecommon,ʺhttp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxʺ,insteadof
ʺhttps://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxʺ),thefirewallmustalsoa
llowinbound
communicationonTCPPort80‐thestandardTCPportforHTTP
communication.

TheKXII‐101canbeconfiguredintwoways:
• Usingtheweb‐basedKXII‐101RemoteConsole,whichrequiresthe
unittohaveanetworkconnectiontoyourworkstation.
• UsingaterminalemulationprogramlikeHyperTerminal,which
requiresadirectconnectionfromtheunitʹsADMINporttoyour
workstation
