Using the Local User Port
TheKXII101isavailablewithoptionalvideoandPS/2cablesthat
enableyoutoattachakeyboardandmousetothetargetserverthrough
theLOCALUSERport.TheLOCALUSERportservesasapassthrough
tothetargetservertowhichtheKXII101isattachedandha

purpose.TheKXII101mustbepoweredontousetheLOCALUSER
port.
Note:OnlyPS/2hostinterfaceconnectivityissupportedonthelocalport
andyoumustrestartthetargetserverafterconnectingtoKXII101using
PS/2connectors.
Configuring Network Firewall Settings
ToaccesstheKXII101throughanetworkfirewall,yourfirewallmust
allowcommunicationonTCPPort5000.Alternatively,theKXII101can
beconfiguredtouseadifferentTCPportofyourowndesignation.
InordertotakeadvantageofKXII101ʹswebaccesscapabilities,the
firew
allmustallowinboundcommunicationonTCPPort443‐the
standardTCPportforHTTPScommunication.Inordertotake
advantageofKXII101ʹsredirectionofHTTPrequeststoHTTPS(sothat
usersmaytypethemorecommon,ʺhttp://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxʺ,insteadof
ʺhttps://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxʺ),thefirewallmustalsoa
llowinbound
communicationonTCPPort80‐thestandardTCPportforHTTP
communication.

TheKXII101canbeconfiguredintwoways:
UsingthewebbasedKXII101RemoteConsole,whichrequiresthe
unittohaveanetworkconnectiontoyourworkstation.
UsingaterminalemulationprogramlikeHyperTerminal,which
requiresadirectconnectionfromtheunitʹsADMINporttoyour
workstation
