Local Drives
Thisoptionmountsanentiredrive;theentirediskdriveismounted
virtuallyontothetargetserver.Usethisoptionforharddrivesand
externaldrivesonly;itdoesnotincludenetworkdrives,CDROM,or
DVDROMdrives.ThisistheonlyoptionforwhichReadWriteis
available.

MtargetserversrunningcertainversionoftheWindows
operatingsystemmaynotacceptnewmassstorageconnectionsafteran
NTFSformattedpartition(e.g.,thelocalCdrive)hasbeenredirectedto
them.Ifthisoccurs,closetheKXII101RemoteConsoleandreconnect
beforeredirectinganothervirtualmediadevice.Ifotherusersare
connectedtothesametargetserver,theymustal
soclosetheir
connectionstothetargetserver.
¾ To access a drive on the client computer:
1. FromtheVirtualKVMClient,selectVirtualMedia>ConnectDrive.
TheMapVirtualMediaDrivedialogopens:
2. ChoosethedrivefromtheLocalDrivedropdownlist.
3. Ifyouwantreadandwritecapabilities,selecttheReadWriteoption
checkbox.Thisoptionisdisabledfornonremovabledrives.Please
refertotheconditionswhenreadwriteisnotavailable(onpage

rmoreinformation.Whenchecked,youwillbeabletoreador
writetheconnectedUSBdisk.
