Chapter 3
Internal CPU Power Management
Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology [Enabled]
This item allows your system to adjust the CPU’s voltage and cores frequency,
resulting in decreased power consumption and heat production.
[Disabled] The CPU runs at its default speed.
[Enabled] The system controls the CPU speed.
Turbo Mode [Enabled]
Enable this item for the operating system to dynamically adjust the CPU voltage and
frequency, resulting in a decreased average power consumption and a decreased
average heat production.
Conguration options: [Enabled] [Disabled]
Long Duration Package Power Limit [Auto]
The default value will be the TDP (thernal design power). The turbo ratio can be
maintained for a duration to exceed the TDP for the maximum system perfromance.
Conguration options: [1] - [4095]
Package Power Time Window [Auto]
The value indicates the maintained duration for the turbo ratio to exceed the TDP
(Thermal design power).
Conguration options: [1] - [127]
Short Duration Package Power Limit [Auto]
It is the second power limit to provide a rapid protection when the package power
exceeds power limit 1. The default setting is 1.25 times the power limit 1.
Conguration options: [1] - [4095]
According to Intel, the platfrom must be capabale of supporting the duration for up to 10
msec. when the turbo ratio exceeds the power limit 2. ASUS motherboards can support the
duration for longer time.
CPU Intergrated VR Current Limit [Auto]
This item allows you to congure a higher current limit to prevent a frequency or power
throttling when overclocking.
Conguration options: [0.125] - [1023.875]
CPU Intergrated Fault Management [Auto]
Disable this item to prevent the FIVR (fully integrated voltage regulator) from tripping
when doing over-voltage. It is recommended to disable this item when overclocking.
Conguration options: [Auto] [Enabled] [Disabled]
CPU Intergrated VR Efficiency Management [Auto]
Select the balanced mode to improve power saving when the CPU is in a low power
state. Select the high performance mode to make the FIVR (fully integrated voltage
regulator) work in a high performance at all times.
Conguration options: [Auto] [Enabled] [Disabled]
