Thechimneyisthedrivingforcewhichmakesthestovefunction.Inorderforthestoveto
performsatisfactorilythechi mneyheightmustbesufficienttoensurethecorrectdraught
of14to18Pa,soastocleartheproductsofcombustionandpreventproblemsofsmoke
leakingintotheroomwhenthestoveislit.
Note:Achimneyheightofnotlesstha n4.5metres,measuredverticallyfromtheoutletof
thestovetothetopofthechimney,shouldbesatisfactory.
Alternativelythecalcul ationproceduregi veninBS5854:1980maybeusedasthebasis
fordecidingwhetheraparticularchimney designwill providesufficientdraught.
PleaseNote,thisappliancehasbeentestedbythemanufacturersandworksona3m
straightflue.
Theoutletfromthechimneyshouldbeabovetheroofofthebuildinginaccordancewith
theprovisionsoftheBuildingRegulationsApprovedDocumentJ.
Iftheinstallationisintoanexistingchimney,thenitmustbesoundandhavenocra cksor
other faultswhichmayallowfumesintothehouse.Olderproperties,especially,mayhave
chimneyfaultsorthecrosssectionmaybetoolargei.e.morethan230x230mm.
Remedialactionsho uldbetakenifrequired,expertadviceshouldbesoughtwhere
required.
Ifthe chimneyrequireslining,thenasui tablesoli dfuelfluelinermustbeused,in
accordancewithBui ldingRegulationsApprovedDocume ntJ.
Anye xi stingchim neymustbeclearofobstructionandsho uldhavebeensweptclean
immediatelybeforethei nstallati onofthestove.Ifthestoveisfittedi nplaceofanopen
fire,thenthechimneyshouldbesweptonemont hafterinstallationtoclearanysootfalls
whichmayhaveoccurredd uetothedi fferenceincombustionbetweenthestoveandthe
openfire.
Ifther eisnoexistingchimneythenei theraprefabricatedblockchimney,inaccordance
withBuildingRegulationsApprovedDocument Joratwinwal linsulatedstainlesssteel
fluetoBS4543canbeused.Thesechimneysm ustbefittedinaccordancewiththe
manufacturer’sinstructionsa ndtheBuildingRegulations.
Asinglewallmetalfluepipeissuitableforconnectingthestovetothechimneyb utis
notsui tableforusingforthecompletechimney.Thechimneyand
connectingfluepipemusthaveaminimumdiameterof150mmandit’s
dimensionshouldbenotlessthanthesizeoftheoutletsocketofthestovewhi chis
150mm.Anybendinthechimneyorconnectingfluepipeshouldnotexceed45°.90°
bend sshouldnotbeused.

wallsoffireplacesorfluescouldignitei t.Theref orewheninstallingthestoveinthe
