secondspreadspectrumradiothatisinstalledatthecentralcontrolcomputer.
1.4.3 TestingRadioTransmissions
Totesttheradiotransmissionofyourweatherstationcarrytheweatherstationto
thesitethenattempttocommunicatewiththecentralcontrolcomputer.If
obstructionsinthelineofsightarepreventingtheweatherstationfrom
communicating,trythefollowing:
• Relocateyourweatherstationawayfromobstructions
• Removetheobstructions
• Mountthecomputerbasestationantennaoutsideofthebuildingby
runningtheantennacablethrougha
windoworcablerun
• Useahighergainantenna(optional)attheweatherstationsite
• Installahighergainantenna(optional)ontheroofofthecomputerbase
stationbuildingandalignitabovetheobstructions.
2.5 Direct Connect Weather Station
Directconnectweatherstationsareavailableforinstallationsthatrequiretheweather
stationbeplacedmorethana½milelineofsightfromthecentralcontrolcomputer.
Withtheuseofshorthaulmodems,theweatherstationcanbeinstalledupto2.4miles
awayusinga24AWGcable.
