Caring for the Freedom System equipment
The radio is not waterproof. Do not immerse it in water or expose it to
excessive moisture.
Do not expose the radio to extreme heat such as direct sunlight in a closed
vehicle.
Detergents, alcohol, aerosol sprays, and petroleum products can damage the
case. Clean the case using a soft cloth moistened with water.
Fully charge the battery pack before you use the radio for the first time. Do
not fast charge a new battery; this can shorten battery life. See the handheld
radio user manual for more information.
After the initial charge, a battery should be charged overnight after each
day of use.
Use only the drop-in charger supplied with the Freedom System for
recharging a battery pack.
Do not use a battery when it is not fully charged. If the battery cannot
power the radio, recharge the battery.
Do not overcharge a battery. A standard battery should not be charged for
more than 16 hours at a time.
If a battery does not seems to hold a charge, try to continuously charge it
for 16 hours. If it still fails, replace it.
Once a battery has been fully charged, you may use the fast charge. Do not
fast charge a fully charged battery.
Do not charge the battery in temperatures colder than about 45° F.
