RAID Operating Modes
RAID 1
The RAID 1 operating mode mirrors all data simultaneously identically
on both disks. The total capacity then is limited to the smaller one
of both disks. If one disk fails the otherone takes over and all data
is kept save. If a virus or human error destroys a file this file is lost
because all changes take place on both disks.

In RAID 0 operating mode the data is written/read in stripes
alternately on both drives. This sums the disk volumes and increases
the speed of these operations. If one of the drives fails all data is lost.

Schedule Backup
If in RAID 1 a hard disk is replace with another one the replaces
one contains all data of the mirror and equals a full backup. The
auto rebuilt restores the mirror from the remaining to the new disk
completely. If one disk of the disks in the RAID set fails the other
one automatically takes over. Dose a virus or a human error destroy
any file a backup exist on the replaced disk in the state of time of
removal.
