free area.
Preparation:
The brake caliper paint is developed for an easy proceeding.
Removing of brake calipers of brake drums will not be necessary.
Remove wheels of vehicle. If you intend to paint the insides of
your calipers, you may have to de-install the brake pads, too.
Cleaning:
Use steel brush to remove rust. Clean surfaces from grease, dirt,
oil and brake fluid with the brake cleaner. Thoroughly spray on
brake cleaner again and let it dry for approx. 5 min. Note: the
dust on brake parts may contain asbestos. Wear safety clothing.
Ensure for good ventilation.
Applying the paint:
1. Rubber parts on the caliper e.g. brake lines have to be coated
with masking tape. The bleeder screw thread has to be masked
too, otherwise it cannot be opened after curing.
2. Add the can of hardener to the paint and thoroughly mix it with
the wooden stick ( only use as much as hardener as you need
for each step). Allow to stand for about 5 min., then mix again.
3. Use the paintbrush to apply a thin and even coat. Avoid drops
and tears. Allow to dry for about 15 min. then apply a second
coat.
4. Paint will be dry after approx. 2 h. Now brake and wheels can
be remounted. Your vehicle should not be moved for the next
24 hrs. to allow the paint to come up to final hardening.
If appropriate handled and cured our product guarantees the
following:
• Long-lasting protection and sealing of the surface
• Resistant to heat and abrasion
• Resistant to corrosion and chemicals
Warning! We are not liable, for any damage or injury,
resulting out of failures to comply with this instruct-
tions. Brake caliper paint must not be used for brake
discs, brake pads or brake shoes. If the paint comes in
contact with one of these parts, they have to be cleaned
or changed immediately.
