ThechoiceofTxPower,antennagainandcableloss(betweentheradioandtheantenna)
determinestheEIRPandisaffecte dbysuchconsiderationsasradiolimitationsandregulatory
restrictions.

B.2AboutSingleandDualAntennas
EachRADWINradioisactuallymadeoftworadiotransceivers(radios).Theradiosmakeuse
ofalgorithmsthatutilizebothSpatialMultiplexing(alsocalledMIMO)andDiversityresulting
inenhancedcapacity,rangeandlinkavailability.Thenumberofantennas(i.e.radios)usedis
determinedbyuserconfigurationandbyautomaticsystemdecisions,explained below.

Whenusingdualantennasatbothsites(singlebipolarantennaortwomounipolarantennas)
youcanchoosebetweenSpatialMultiplexingModeandDiversityMode.
SpatialMultiplexingMode
Underthismode,thesystemdoublesthelinkcapacity.Atthesametime,itkeepsthesame
rateandmodulationperradioaswasusedwithsingleantenna,thusincreasingcapacity,
rangeandavailability.
ForexamplewithadualantennaRADWIN5000cantransmitatmodulationof64QAMand
FECof5/6andgetanairrateof130Mbps,comparedto65Mbpswithsingleantenna.
