which it will become a read-only medium.
TrueFFS will report that the medium is write-
protected when space for writing is exhausted.
This option provides very limited
functionality, and should not be used except in
special cases. The option has the advantage of
lowering the formatting overhead of TrueFFS,
since a spare Flash erase zone is not needed
for space reclamation.
/Y Do not pause for confirmation before beginning to format.
Compatibility Issues
TrueFFS and DOS
TrueFFS is compatible with all DOS disk and file operations. Absolute sector
reads (int 25) and absolute sector writes (int 26) are supported. Among DOS
utilities, all will operate correctly except UNDELETE. The UNDELETE
program will not succeed in reconstructing TrueFFS deleted files.
The DOS FORMAT command will not work with TFFS.COM or
RADSS.COM. TFORMAT should be used instead for formatting.
The DOS CHKDSK command may be successfully used to analyze and
correct DOS format problems.
TrueFFS and SMARTDrive
Microsoft's SMARTDrive, Norton Cache and other disk-caching utilities may
be used to speed TrueFFS operations.
TrueFFS read operations are very fast without disk-caching. The installation
of a cache will usually not improve TrueFFS read speed. For write operations,
disk-caching utilities use a write-behind strategy, and so will boost the
apparent write speed very significantly, especially if the Flash medium is
written to only occasionally.
