RTM overview
TheATCA5400RTMisanoptionalcompatiblereartransitionmodulefortheATCA4500,
ATCA4550,andATCA4555CPMfrontmodulethatsuppliestheCPMwithadditionaldata
storageandconnectivityoptions.
TheRTMhasanonboardSAS/SATAcontrollerandcanhostanoptionalSASharddiskdrive
(HDD).ThecontrollercanaccessanHDDAMCifoneisinstalledontheCPM.TheRTMalso
includestworearpanelSASportstoallowcableconnectionstoadditionalharddiskdrives,
suchasharddiskdrivesaccessiblefromanotherRTM.TheSAS/SATAcontrollersupportsRAID
(redundantarrayofinexpensivedisks),includingRAID0(striping)andRAID1(mirroring)
configurations.

TheRTMhastwo1gigabitEthernetSFPsocketsonitsfaceplatethatcanfacilitateexternal
connectionsthroughtheRTMtotheCPM.TheserearEthernetportsareusablewhenthe
EthernetcontrollerontheCPMisconfiguredthroughaBIOSmenusettingtoroutethe

TheRS232serialportontheRTMprovidesamanagementinterfacetotheCPM.TheRTM
alsoincludesaUSB2.0portthatconnectstotheCPM.
Amodulemanagementcontroller(MMC)providesintelligentmanagementoftheRTM
hardware,includingitsmanagedsensors.TheMMCrespondstoresetsignalsfromtheCPM
aswellasIPMIcommands.
