Perform the update
1. AfterbootingtheCPM,verifythatrsys‐eeupdate.rpmisinstalledaspartoftherequired
packageslistedinTable 3onpage 38.Thersys‐eeupdatebinaryisinstalled inthe/usr/sbin
directory.
2. CopyalleepfilestotheCPMrunningLinux.TheeepfilesarelocatedonthePromentum
softwarereleaseinthefirmware/ethernetfolderforyouroperatingsystemupdate
bundle.
3. FlashtheFrontEthernetcontroller:
rsys‐eeupdateinstalliXsFRONT_3.eep
ReplaceXwiththeNICnumberfortheFrontethcontroller.
4. FlashtheBaseEthernetcontroller:
rsys‐eeupdateinstalliXsBASE_3.eep
ReplaceXwiththeNICnumberfortheBaseethcontroller.
5. FlashtheFabricEthernetcontroller:
rsys‐eeupdateinstalliXsOPLIN_6.eep
ReplaceXwiththeNICnumberfortheFabricethcontroller.
Warning!Eachcontrollersupportstwointerfaces.Thersys‐eeupdatetoolshouldberun
ononlyoneethinterface.Itwillupdatebothinterfacesatthesametime.
6. ReboottheLinuxOStomakethechangeeffective.
Verify the EEPROM version
ToverifythecorrectEEPROMversion,usersys‐eeupdatetoreadtheversionfieldfromthe
EEPROM.Executethefollowingcommand:
rsys‐eeupdateiXoemver
ReplaceXwiththecorrectNICnumber.
