Performing an update using rfw-update

Save your configuration
Therfw‐updateutilitypreservesdefaultconfigurationsacrossupdatesfortheATCA‐1200,
ATCA‐2210,ATCA‐7220,andATCA‐9100.Configurationsarepreservedinbothbankstoretain
theexistingsetupinformation.EachATCAsoftwarereleaseimagecontainsalistoffilestobe
preserved,andyoucangenerateacustomlisttospecifyadditionalfileswithinthe/etc
directorytopreserve.
Filepreser vationworksasfollows:
•BeforetheOSupdatebegins,theconfigurationiscopiedfromtheactiveflashbanktothe
standbyflashbank.
•Aftertheupdateisactivated,themodulerebootstothestandbybank.
•Duringbootup:
•thesavedconfiguration
issavedtoatemporarylocation,
•thedirectories/rsys/onboot.dand/rsys/onboot.dataareremovedandrepopulatedby
thenewrelease,and
•theconfigurationsavedinthetemporarylocationisrestoredtoitsproperlocation.
Files preserved by default
Filepreser vationincludesvariousconfigurations,suchasEthernet(fastpath),module
management,shelfmanagement,andothers.Thesystemautomaticallypreser vesthe
followingfilesinadefaultpreservationliststoredinthe/etc/configmgmt.shfile:
