Removing and installing the CPM, RTM, or AMC
Thefollowingstepsexplainthehot‐swapprocedureforreplacingtheCPM,RTM,orAMC.
1. Re adElectrostaticdischargeonpage 8andmakesureyouareadequatelygrounded
beforehandlinganyofthemodules.
2. BeforereplacingtheCPM,disconnectallcablesfromthefrontpanel.Beforereplacing
theRTM,disconnectallcablesfromtherearpanel.BeforeswappingtheAMC,goto
step4.
3. LoosenthetwothumbscrewssecuringtheCPMortheRTM.
4. ReleasetheAMChandleorthe modulelockingejector
latchthatcontainsthehot‐swapswitch.Thiswillbe
eithertherightorthebottomejectorlatch,depending
on
whetherthemoduleisorientedverticallyor
horizontally.
Toreleasethelockingejectorlatch,firstdisengagethe
latchlockbyslidingthelocktowardthehandleto
releasethecatchfromtheshelflatchrail,thenpullthe
handleout.Refertotheillustration.
Donotreleasetheotherlatchatthis
time.
Whenthehandleorejectorlatchisopened,asignalissenttotheIPMCwhichcauses
thebluehot‐swapLEDtobeginblinking.
