BIOS boot specification (BBS) boot devices and priorities
CPMbootdevicesareorganizedintothefollowinggroups:
•Harddiskdevices(SAS,SATA,USBHDD,USBflashdependingonformat,iSCSI
volumes).SeeConfigureiSCSIBootonpage 171fordetailsaboutusinganiSCSIboot
device.
•RemovableUSBmediadevices(USBfloppydrive,USBflashdependingonformat)
•Removablemediadevices(CD‐ROM,DVD‐ROM)
•Networkdevices(PXE)
Note:EFIbootoptions,suchastheEFIshellandUEFI,arealsolistedbutnotgrouped.
Thegroupscanbearrangedinorderofbootpriority(BootOption1,BootOption2,andso
on),andthedevicescanbearrangedinor derofbootprioritywithineachgroup.For
details,seeTable 21onpage 71forthegroupbootpriorityconfigurationoptionsinthe
Bootmenu.
TheCPMinitiallyattemptstobootfromthefirstprioritydeviceinthefirstprioritygroup.
Ifunsuccessful,itat temptstobootfromeachdeviceinthefirstgroupinpriorityorder
beforetryingthefirstdeviceinthesecondgroup,andsoon.Anygroupordevicecanbe
settoabootpriorityofdisabledtopreventbootingfromit.
