IPMI-over-LAN
AremotemanagementapplicationcanestablishanIPMI‐over‐LANsessionwiththeIPMC.
TheIPMCisremotelyaccessiblethroughthefrontserialport(COM1),therearserialport
(COM2),andtheBaseEthernetports.TheCPMimplementsIPMI‐over‐LANusingRMCP
andRMCP+asdescribedintheIPMI2.0specification.TheIPMI‐over‐LANsessioncanbe
usedtoenablethefunctionalitydescribedinSerial‐over‐LANonpage 65.
Configuring IPMI-over-LAN access
TheCPMmustbeinitiallyconfiguredtomakeIPMI‐over‐LANaccessavailable.TheIPMC
savestheconfigurationchangesinnon‐volatileRAMsotheyarenotlostduringreboots,
hot‐swaps,orfirmwareupgrades.

•AremotecomputerwithnetworkaccesstotheShelfManagerintheshelfwiththe
CPM.
