Restoring Older Firmware or Software
Iffirmwareimagecorruptionorincompatibilitiesoccurthatcannotbecorrected,itmaybe
necessarytodowngradethemodulesinthesystemtoanearlierATCAversion.
IfyouaredowngradingfromreleaseATCA‐4.1.1orlatertoanearlierversionof4.x.x,usethe
rsys_swmutilitytoperformthedowngrade.Thesameproceduresareusedforthe
downgradeastheupgrade.Theonlydifferencebetweentheupgradeandthedowngradeis
thatforthedowngradeyouperformtheupdateonthemodulesandcomponentsusingan
earlierversionofthe4.x.xsoftwarebundle.
IfyouneedtodowngradefromreleaseATCA‐4.1.1orlatertoanATCA‐3.x.xversion,youmust
usetherfw‐mergeutilitytocreateanupdatebundlethatmergesthenewerscriptsandtools
withtheearlierfirmwareimages.Afterthemergedbundleiscreated,usethersys‐updateto
