ATCA-6000 shelf display and alarm indicators
Theshelfdisplaypanel(SDP)ontheATCA‐6000shelfconsistsofthefollowing:
•LCDdisplay
•ShelfPowerLED
•AlarmLEDstoindicateMinor,Major,andCriticalalarms
•AudiblealarmwithanAlarmAcknowledgebutton
TheLCDdisplayontheSDPsupportstwoscrolling40‐characterlinestodisplaytheeightmost
recentalarmsintheDAT.Figure 9onpage 93showsthealarmformatusedontheLCD
display.ThreeseparatealarmLEDsontheSDPindicatethepresenceofcritical,major,and
minoralarmsintheDAT.AnaudiblealarmontheSDPindicatesthehighestseverityalarm.
Telcoalarmcontacts,activeononlytheactiveSPM,indicatecritical,major,andminoralarms.
Unlesstheautomaticcontrolhasbeenoverridenbythesystemmanager,theShelfManager
automaticallycontrolsthedisplayandalarmindicatorsasfollows:
•TurnsontheCritical,Major,orMinorLEDontheSDPwhenitdetectsacritical,major,or
minoralarm.
•TurnsofftheCritical,Major,orMinorLEDontheSDPwhenallcritical,major,orminor
alarmsareremoved.
• Soundsanalarmwhenunacknowledgedalarmsexistinitsdomainalarmtable.
•Stopssoundingthealarmwhenallalarmshavebeenacknowledged.
•AcknowledgesallalarmsinititsdomainalarmtablewhentheAlarmAcknowledgebutton
ispressedandreleasedtwicewithin3seconds.
• Sendsaneventtothesystemmanagerinterface(HPI)whentheAlarmAcknowledge
buttonispressedandreleasedtwicewithin3seconds.
IftheAlarmAcknowledgebuttonispres sedformorethan3 seconds,theShelfManager
graduallyreducesthecontrastontheLCDdisplayuntilthebuttonisreleased.Ifthelowest
contrastsettingisreachedandthebuttonhasnotbeenreleased,theShelfManagersets
thecontrasttoitshighestlevelbeforecontinuingtoreduceit.Thecyclecontinuesuntil
thebuttonisreleased.
•Displaysthe
message“SystemNormal”ontheSDPiftherearenoAlarmsinitsdomain
alarmtable.
•Displaysthelast8AlarmsinthedomainalarmtableontheSDP.Theformatofthe
messagesisshowninFigure 9.Themessagesarescrolledupatarateof1secondperrow.
ThetelcoalarmoutputsarecontrolledbytheShelfManager,butprovidethecapabilityfor
thesystemmanagertooverridethestateofthealarmcontacts.
