Alarm configuration procedure
ChangestothealarmconfigurationfiletakeeffectwhentheShelfManagerisrestarted.This
procedureexplainshowtomakethechangetakeeffectwhentheshelfhasredundantSCMs.
Tochangetheeventseverities:
1. Modifythe/etc/shmgralarm.conffileontheSCMhostingtheactiveShelfManager.
Tip:TochecktheroleofanSCM,youcanusethiscommandfromtheSCMLinuxprompt:
shmgrrole
2. StoptheShelfManageronboththeactiveandstandbySCMs.Usethiscommandfromthe
LinuxpromptofeachSCM:
shmgrstop
3. StarttheShelfManagerontheSCMthathastheupdatedconfigurationfile,byentering:
shmgrstart
4. StarttheShelfManagerontheotherSCM:
shmgrstart
TheconfigurationfilefromtheactiveSCMisupdatedonthestandbySCMwhenthestandby
isstarted.
Tip:Ifyouneedtorestorethedefaultconfiguration,performtheconfigurationprocedure
above,replacingthe/etc/shmgralarm.confalarmconfigurationfilewiththisfilecontaining
thedefaults:
/usr/share/shmgr/shmgralarm.defs
