Editing the rsyshsd.conf configuration file
Foreachfrontmodulethereareblade HPIconfigurationsettingsthatarestoredinthe
/etc/rsyshsd.conffileandsavedpermanently.Thedefaultconfigurationsettingsworkfor
mostofthefrontmoduleswithoutanymodifications.ForCPMs,however,the
RSYSHSD_BASE_INTERFACEparametermustbeeditedtospecifythenameofthebonded
interface.Fordetails,refertoConfiguringbladeHSDinterfacesonpage 52.
Anychangesyoumaketakeeffectwhenthemoduleisrestarted.
Note:Thecontentsofthe/etc/rsyshsd.conffileoverridetheconfigurationparameterdefault
settingsin/usr/share/shmgr/shmgr.defs.Donotedittheshmgr.defsfilesdirectly.Allcustom
configurationsshouldbedonein/etc/rsyshsd.conf.
TochangethebladeHPIconfiguration:
1. Onthefrontmodule,opentheappropriate/etc/rsyshsd.conffileinatexteditor.(Thevi
texteditorresidesonthemodule’sfilesystem.)
2. Edittheconfigurationparameters,addingparametersasneeded.Whenadding
parameters,copythesyntaxfoundinthedef aultsfile/usr/share/shmgr/shmg.defs.
3. Saveyourchanges.
4. Restartthefrontmoduletomakeyourconfigurationchangestakeeffect.
Configuring blade HPI behavior
ThissectiondescribesthebladeHPIconfigurationsettingsyoucanchangebyeditingblade
HPIserverdaemonparameters(parameter swiththeprefixRSYSHSD)inthe
/etc/shmgr.rsyshsd.conffile.
Disabling the blade HPI server
TheRSYSHSD_DISABLEparameterallowsyoutodisablethebladeHPIserver.Thisparameter
isnormallyonlyusedfordebugpurposes.
