Restoring shelf FRU information on ATCA-6002 shelves
TheATCA‐6002shelfusesafiletostoreshelfFRUinformation,becausethereisnophysical
shelfFRUdevice.ThisfileislocatedhereontheShelfManagermodule:
/var/lib/shmgr/atca‐6002.bin
IftheshelfFRUinformationgetscorrupted,replacetheatca‐6002.binfilewiththefactory
copyonthereleaseCD.
Saving FRU information to a file
ThisprocedureallowsyoutosaveeithertheshelfFRUinformationorinformationforan
individualFRUtoafile.
TosaveFRUinformationtoafile:
1. LogintoanysystemwithLANconnectivitytotheFRU.
Thefilewillbesavedtothissystem.
2. CopytheFRUinformationtoafile:
rsys‐ipmitool‐t<IPMB>fruread<FRU_ID><target_file>
<IP>
istheIPaddressofaShelfManagermodule(forexample,thisisusually10.0.0.1
whenexecutedfromanSCM).
<IPMB>istheIPMBaddressoftheFRUoroftheproxyFRUthatgivesaccesstotheshelf

shelfFRUinformation,usetheproxyFRUforyourshelfmodel:
• For theATCA‐6000,usetheIPMBaddressofthevirtualSPM.
•FortheATCA‐6006,usetheaddressofthePEMhostingtheshelfFRUdevice.
•FortheATCA‐6014andATCA‐6016,usethevirtualRCMaddressfortheactiveshelf
FRUdevice,oreitherRCMaddressforaparticulardevice.
<FRU_ID>is:
•0fortheinformationforaFRUandalldevicesforwhichitisproxy
•1fortheshelfFRUdevice
<target_file>isthefullpathofthefi lecreatedbycopingfromtheshelfFRUdevice.The
fileiswrittentoyourcurrentsystemandgiventhepathandfilenameyouspecify(orput
inyourcurrentworkingdirectoryifnoneisspecified).
