Installing DIMMs
TheseinstructionsassumethattheCPMhasbeenremovedfromtheshelfandthemain
boardcoverhasbeenremoved.
1. OpentheDIMMejectorlatchesbypushingthemoutward,asshowninFigure 9.
2. TheDIMMsarekeyedsotheycanbeinsertedinonlyoneway.HoldtheDIMMbythe
edges,aligntheslot(keyway)oftheDIMMwiththetabmoldedinthebaseofthesocket,
andpushthecarddownfirmlyintothesocket.Theejectorlatchescloseandclickinto
placewhentheDIMMisfirmlyseated.
3. InserttheotherDIMMsinthesamemanner.
4. Screwthemainboardcoverbackintoplace.
5. PoweruptheCPMandchecktheBIOSscreenstomakesureallmemoryisworking.
AftertheDIMMsareinstalled,verifythattheexpectedmemoryisavailableandthememory
isvalidasdescribedinthefollowing sections.
Verifying DIMM operation
VerifythattheBIOSdetectsandenablesallinstalledmemory.Thetotaldetectedandenabled
memorysizeisreportedintheBIOSsetupmenu(
Main>MemoryInformation).
IfthetotalamountofdetectedmemoryislessthanthetotalphysicalDIMMmemorythatis
