Removing the CPM board cover
TheCPMcoolingshroudconsistsofthemainboardcover.Theentirecoverisattachedtothe
boardwithanumberofflatPhillipsheadscrews.Performthefollowingstepstoremovethe
CPMmainboardcover:
1. PowerdowntheCPMoractivatethehotswapswitchsoitcansafelybeuninstalled.
2. RemovetheCPMfromitsslotandsetitonanESD‐saf eworksurfaceasdescribedin
RemovingtheCPMonpage 71.
3. Removethesixscrewssecuringtheboardcovertotheboardstandoffsandsetthem
aside.
4. Removetheboardcoverandsetitaside.
Installing the CPM board cover
PerformthefollowingstepstoinstalltheCPMmainboardcover:
1. Aligntheboardcoversothecountersunkscrewholesarealignedwiththeboard
standoffs.
2. Attachtheboardcoverusingsixflat‐headPhillipsscrews.
Installing the CPM
ThereplacementCPMshouldalreadybeonastatic‐freesurface.Performthefollowingsteps
toinstallthereplacementRTMorCPM.
1. ReadElectrostaticdischargeonpage 10andmakesureyouareadequatelygrounded
beforehandlinganyofthemodules.
2. PickuptheCPM.
3. Holdtheejectorlatchesintheopenpositionandslidethemoduleallthewayintothe
shelf,makingsureitmakesasolidconnectionwiththebackplaneandtheEMCgasket
formsatightseal.
4. Whentheejectorlatchesreachthelatchrailontheshelf,closebothejectorlatchesand
tightenthethumbscrews.
5. WhenaCPM
isinstalledinashelfwithpowerapplied,thebluehotswapLEDflashesuntil
themoduleisactive ,thenturnsoff.
6. FormoreinformationoninstallingaCPM,seetheATCA‐4xxxComputeProcessingModule
InstallationGuide.
7. Removethegroundingwriststrapwhenyouaredonehandlingthemodule.
