UpgradetheBaseEEPROMimageandthefront/rear
EthernetEEPROMimageusingthe
imagefilesandinstructionsfromtheRadisyssoftwaredistribution.

Serial-Over-LAN
Serial‐over‐LAN(SOL)isthespecificationofpacketformatsandprotocolsfortransmitting
serialdataoveraLANusingIPMI‐over‐LANpackets.SOLoperationisconceptually
straightforward.AremotemanagementapplicationcanestablishanIPMI‐over‐LANsession
withtheIPMC.Oncethesessionisestablished,theremoteconsolecanrequestSOLsession
activation.
InSOLmode,anyoutgoingcharactersfromthePCHareassembledintopacketsbytheIPMC
andsenttotheremoteconsoleoveroneoftheBaseLANinterfaces.Conversely,inboundLAN
packetscarryingcharactersforthesystemserialcontrollerhavetheircharacterdataextracted
bytheIPMCanddeliveredtothebaseboardserialcontroller.
TheSOLcharacterdataiscontainedinSOLmessagescarriedinUDPdatagrams.Thepacket
formatis“IPMIv2.0RMCP+”withthepayloadtypesetto“SOL”.

anothersessioncanbe
