RG# 1 Attempt
Default: No
Selections: Yes or No
Yes This Route Group will attempt the Primary destination once and, if unsuccessful, will then
attempt the Backup destination. The panel will still make a total of 10 attempts (5 to the
Primary, 5 to the Backup) before generating a Route Group Comm Fail event.
No This Route Group will attempt the Primary destination twice and, if unsuccessful, will then
attempt the Backup destination. The panel will still make a total of 10 attempts (6 to the
Primary, 4 to the Backup) before generating a Route Group Comm Fail event.
Application
Tip
A common D6600 NetCom System application with the 9000 Series panels may be to use NetCom as
the Primary Path in a given Route Group and then use a standard PSTN phone line as the Backup
Path. In this configuration, if an event is unable to reach the central station after one or two
attempts, the system will then attempt to send the original event using the Backup Path (over the
phone line) as well as a Comm Fail SDI ##* event (which indicates that the system failed to
receive an acknowledgement via the NetCom path).*
Shown below is an example of the sections (from the D7412/D7212 Program Record Sheet) needed
to program events to a Primary IP Path and a Backup Phone Line. However, please refer to the 9000
Series Program Entry Guide (P/N: 74-07695-000) for full instructions and details.
