If the newly received frequency is within 10KHz of one of the frequencies already stored in memory,
it is declared to be a duplicate, and the frequency count of the corresponding memory location is incre-
mented. If the newly received frequency is not a duplicate then it is stored in the next available mem-
ory location and logged as the first hit. In either case, the LED indicator flashes and the appropriate
memory location is displayed on the LCD, along with the frequency stored in that location. If the LCD
backlight is enabled, then the backlight is turned on each time a measurement passes the filter. If ten
seconds have elapsed since the last successful frequency measurement, then the backlight is automati-
cally turned off. If the beeper is enabled, then a double beep is sounded to indicate the capture of a new
frequency, and a single beep is sounded to indicate the capture of a frequency already stored in mem-
ory.
