Channel Assignment
Each video window in the viewing area of the BUS-WATCH® Live View PC Software may be
assigned to display video from a channel of an available BUS-WATCH® Mobile DVR.
Channel assignment is the process of assigning each video window in the viewing area of the
application to display video from a specific channel of a specific DVR. Several methods of
assigning channels to video windows exist.
Single Device
In the most common configuration, live video from all channels of a single DVR will be viewed
using the BUS-WATCH® Live View PC Software. In this configuration, the source DVR can
be selected directly from the device list available under the Device tab in the upper left corner of
the interface, and video windows will be automatically assigned to each DVR channel.
To assign all channels of a specific DVR to video windows, select the group or sub-group
containing the source DVR, and select the desired source DVR by double-clicking the DVR
name in the list. Each channel of the selected DVR will be automatically assigned to a video
window.
Channel assignment of DVR channels to video windows will occur sequentially starting with
video window #1. Channel 1 of a single channel R1001 DVR will be assigned to video window
1, channels 1 through 4 of a R4001 DVR will be assigned to video channels 1 through 4 and
channels 1 through 8 of a R8001 DVR will be assigned to video channels 1 through 8.
Previous channel assignments for each window will be overwritten by the new assignments, and
all currently open channels will close.
After channel assignment, the process of establishing a network connection to the source DVR
will be initiated automatically. Upon establishment of a network connection, the newly assigned
channels will open, and the live video from each channel will be displayed in its assigned video
window. The DVR name shown in the DVR list and the channel (camera) names entered for
each channel using the Device Setup function will appear in the title at the top of each video
window.
