i 3.1 Intended use EN Only use the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor to log on and control DuoFern devices. Operating conditions ◆ The DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor must be installed at a minimum height of 2 metres. i Radio systems that transmit on the same frequency can cause interference. Dangers in the case of improper use Using the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor for any other purpose than previously mentioned is not permissible.

Product description EN The DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor can be used to control DuoFern sun shading and wind protection devices depending on the weather, e.g. awnings, roller shutters, Venetian blinds, external Venetian blinds, etc. The DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor measures the brightness and wind velocity in real time. The DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor is powered by a solar cell. An integrated battery provides the necessary power to the device for 24 hours if there is no sun.

i EN 8. Installation The DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor can be installed on a smooth wall or surface. Installation requirements to ensure correct functionality: ◆ Install the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor in such a way that the sun and wind values can be measured easily. ◆ Do not install the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor in the shade of trees and buildings or also in the lee of the wind. ◆ The DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor must be installed at a minimum height of 2 metres.
i EN 8.1 Installation sequence 1. Remove the protective caps from the wall bracket. 2. Loosen the fulcrum screw slightly and push down on the sensor housing. 3. Mark the drill holes and drill the holes with an 8 mm drill bit. 4. Install the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor with the wall plugs and screws provided. 5. i EN 10. Menu 1 - Configuring the sun function Sun function After 10 minutes The awning extends or the shutter closes completely. i After 20 minutes The awning retracts or the shutter opens. The sun function can only be used for sun shading actuators. It may be necessary to set a running time on the actuator so as to be able to use the sun function. The sunshine position of the logged-on actuators is automatically set to 100 % by the sun/wind sensor.

i 13. Menu 9 - Logging DuoFern devices on/off EN In this menu you can log DuoFern devices on and off from the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor. The menu also provides the "Clear-up” option to remove unavailable devices from the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor. To do so, please also read the operating manual of the respective DuoFern device. Maximum number of logged-on devices You can log a maximum of 3 DuoFern devices on to the DuoFern Sun/ Wind Sensor.

i 13.2 Logging off devices EN Behaviour in the event of a failed log-off In the event of an error, the message "Err" appears and the log-on process is terminated. Error causes: An attempt was made to log off a device that is not logged on.
i EN 13.3 Clear-up This function enables you to log off all DuoFern devices that are no longer available by radio from the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor. 1. 2. If the display is off, turn it on by pressing any button. M > Select menu 9. / 3. OK Open menu 9. 4. 4 seconds The number of logged-on DuoFern devices is displayed. Start the clear-up process. To do this, press and hold the button for 4 seconds. All logged-on devices are then retrieved. Unavailable devices are logged off. 4.

i EN 14. Reset (factory settings) This function can be used to completely reset the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor to the factory settings. All previous settings and logged-on DuoFern devices are deleted. 1. M Press any button to turn on the display. OK 2. Cleaning and care EN The function of the DuoFern Sun/Wind Sensor can be affected by environmental influences: ◆ For example, dust or bird droppings on the top of the housing can impair the solar cell and obscure the light sensor. ◆ A dirty wind propeller will no longer turn smoothly and may result in incorrect measurement results.
