Diagnostics
The ASMi-52CD diagnostic capabilities include the following:
• Self-test during power-up.
• SHDSL statistics collection, which can be activated from the RADview SNMP
management tool.
• Local analog loopback (LLB), available for non-LAN interfaces only.
• Digital remote loopback (RLB), available for non-LAN interfaces only.
Software Download
ASMi-52CD allows downloading software versions from CM-2 to the modem card
(see
Appendix B
).
Real-Time Alarms
Real-time alarms provide real time information on system status indicating
management failure, loss of synchronization, etc.
ASMi-52CD also features a log file that stores all alarms and events that occurred
in the unit. These alarms can be displayed and cleared.
Line Protection
ASMi-52CD incorporates high-voltage line protection in compliance with ITU K.21.
1.2 Physical Description
Figure 1-2
shows the front panel of the ASMi-52CD 2-wire module.
Figure 1-3
shows the front panel of the ASMi-52CD 4-wire module. They include LEDs that
display the status of power, data flow, control signals, and diagnostics for each
of the modems.
