1-2 Overview ASMi-52CD Ver. 1.0
Application
ASMi-52CD can establish a communication link with an ASMi-52 standalone
modem.
Figure 1-1 illustrates an application, in which a single ASMi-52CD card
operates opposite two standalone ASMi-52 modems, providing connection for
two pairs of LANs over 2-wire link
. In this application the LRS-24 modem rack is
managed by RADview SNMP management station.

Line Interface
ASMi-52CD extends the range of data transmission over 2/4-wire lines up to
7.1 km (4.4 miles), by employing SHDSL TC-PAM technology. ASMi-52CD
operation complies with the requirements of the ITU-T G.991.2 standard. 4-wire
ASMi-52CD units can be configured to operate over 4-wire or 2-wire lines.
Table 1-1 lists typical ASMi-52CD ranges over 2/4-wire 26 AWG line.
