Appendix G IR-IP Interface Card Installation and Operation Manual
G-4 Installation and Operation ASMi-52CD Ver. 1.0
G.3 Installation and Operation
This section describes:
• Installing the IP card on the ASMi-52CD modem module
• Installing LRSI-F-23/LRSI-B-23 interface module in the LRS-24 hub.
For hub installation and operation of the ASMi-52CD module, see
Chapter 2
of
this manual.
Installing the IR-IP Ethernet Card
ASMi-52CD and IR-IP Ethernet cards contain components sensitive to electrostatic
discharge (ESD). To prevent ESD damage, do not touch the module components
or connectors.
To install the IR-IP Ethernet card on ASMi-52CD:
1. Set the 6-section DIP switch according to
Table G-1.
2. Press the IR-IP Ethernet card, with connectors facing down, against the
ASMi-52CD module connectors.
Installing the LRSI-F-23 Interface Module
To install the LRSI-F-23 interface module in LRS-24:
1. Check that the LRSI-F-23 or LRSI-B-23 interface module was supplied
(see
Figure G-3)
.
2. Insert the LRSI-F-23 module in the LRS-24 hub upper section above the
ASMi-52CD module, or LRSI-B-23 module in the LRS-24 hub back section
behind the ASMi-52CD module.
3. Fasten the screws to secure the module to the LRS-24 frame for proper
grounding of the module panel.
4. Connect the LRSI-F-23 IR-IP connector to the LAN.
Cabling
To connect the LRSI-F-23 IR-IP connector to the LAN:
• Use either a straight or a cross cable to connect the LRSI-F-23 IP-1 (IP-2)
connector to the LAN. Use a cross cable when connecting to a port that does
not implement the crossover function internally. Otherwise, use a straight
cable.
Use
Table G-2
for the pin assignment of the IP-1 (IP-2) RJ-45 connector
needed when preparing the LAN cable. For pin assignment of the LRSI-F-23
line connector, see
Chapter 2.
