Operation
This section explains how to get started and operate the unit as follows:
• Explains how to turn the unit on and off
• Provides a detailed description of the front panel controls and indicators and
their functions
• Provides instructions for using a terminal connected to the control port of the
RICi-4E1/T1, RICi-8E1/T1 unit
• Describes how to navigate menus
• Defines the configuration alternatives.
For a detailed explanation of the parameters in the menus, refer to
Chapter 4 .
3.1 Turning On the Unit
³ To turn on RICi-4E1/T1, RICi-8E1/T1:
• Connect the power cord to the mains.
The PWR indicator turns on and remains on as long as
RICi-4E1/T1, RICi-8E1/T1 receives power.
Once installed, RICi-4E1/T1, RICi-8E1/T1 does not require attention except for
occasionally monitoring the front panel indicators.
You only have to configure the unit in compliance with local requirements or
when performing tests.
