4. Select the correct COM port, and then from the Setting menu select
Communication.
5. Enter the following Communication Parameters, and then click <OK>:
Baud Rate: 9600
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Parity: None
Flow Control: None
At the beginning of terminal emulation, and after specified time-out periods, you
will be prompted to type the password. The default password is ENTER.
6. From the Setting menu select Modem Communications.
7. Change the setting in the Modem Defaults field to None, then click <OK>.
8. Enter the terminal definition in the field provided. For example, for VT-100,
type DEF TERM VT-100, and then click <Enter>.
To define agent parameters:
1. Type def agent and click <Enter>.
2. Enter appropriate values for the following in the fields provided:
MUX name: MP2100
IP address: (999.999.999.999)
Net Id: 1 to 255
SNMP Read Community: (up to 8 characters):public
SNMP Write Community: (up to 8 characters):private (for WAN)
SNMP Trap Community: (up to 8 characters):public
To define serial port parameters:
1. Type def sp, then click <Enter>.
The default parameters will be displayed.
2. Set the baud rate, data bits, and stop bits to correspond to the SLIP, by
entering values that correspond to the Communication Parameters entered for
the Megaplex.
3. Set the auxiliary device to SLIP NMS, and then click <Enter>.
To update the database:
• Type db upd and a number between 1 and 10, and then click <Enter>.
To complete the configuration:
1. Type bye and click <Enter>.
The Terminal configuration window closes.
2. Close the Terminal Screen's icon.
