4-8 Connecting LA-210 to the Management Station RV-EMS/NGN LA-210 Ver. 1.5
4.4 Connecting LA-210 to the Management Station
LA-210 can be managed by the management PC, which must have RADview
installed. The connection from the management PC can be established either
from a local LAN or from a remote location, via a PSN connected to ETX-202
Server.
Once all units are connected, the IP addresses have been assigned ans access
parameters have been configured, you can add LA-210 to the SNMPc
Management Console.
Adding LA-210 to the Management Console
Once the system parameters and management access parameters are configured,
start using RADview-EMS/NGN LA-210. Before you can start configuring LA-210,
you have to first add the LA-210 node to the SNMPc console.
³ To include LA-210 as a node into the system:
1. On the SNMPc Management Console, click Add Device.
The Map Object Properties window appears.
2. Under Properties>General, enter the IP address and under Label, assign a
name to the node.
3. Under Properties>Access, verify that the Read and Write Communities
settings match the ones set for the LA-210 unit. To verify, log on via terminal
or Telnet and navigate to the Host menu
(Configuration>System>Management>Host).
You may add the node also from the Network Element Browser. The Add Node
window is similar to the Map Object Properties window. For additional
information, refer to the Systems manual.
Launching the LA-210 View Window
Once the system parameters and management access parameters are configured,
start using RADview-EMS/NGN LA-210 by launching the respective LA-210 View
window.
³ To add a unit to the SNMPc Console:
1. Verify that the management parameters are properly configured and that
management via SNMP is enabled.
2. Add the LA-210 unit (node) according to the IP address and verify that the
read and write communities defined for LA-210 match the Node settings for
LA-210, otherwise the unit cannot connect.
The icon associated with the LA-210 unit (node) appears green once
RADview connected to the unit (
