Connecting a Terminal to the Control Port
In order to configure the basic IP parameters, it is necessary to connect an ASCII
terminal to the LA-210 control port and log in.
³ To configure the LA-210 system parameters:
1. Configure an ASCII terminal as follows:
Bits per second: 115,200
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None.
VT100 emulation.
2. Connect the terminal to the LA-210 CONTROL port.
3. Press <Enter> several times (to allow LA-210 to detect the rate).
4. Initiate the control session by entering the Administrator user name and
password.
Configuring the Host Parameters
LA-210 allows entering IP parameters manually or using parameters acquired
from the DHCP server.
³ To configure the Host parameters:
1. Display the Host menu (Configuration > System > Management > Host).
2. Select IP Address to define the host IP address.
3. Select IP Mask to define the host IP mask.
4. Select Default Gateway to set the default gateway IP address.
5. Select Default IP to enter a default IP address. Configuring a default IP
address is necessary if you want to preserve a Telnet or HTTP connection to
LA-210 after having disabled its DHCP client.
The default gateway must be in the same subnet as the host.
