Table 4-13. PCM Signalling Display Menu Field Descriptions
Field Description
Link: (display field) Displays the link number for which the control signals are shown.
DS0: (T1 display field) Displays the time slot (DS0) for which the control signals are being reported.
Chls: (E1 display field) Displays the channel for which the control signals are being reported.
To Link: (display field) Displays the status of signalling towards the link. N/A indicates that the timeslot has
not been mapped, or that it is a signaling or framing channel such as E1 CAS. Data
indicates that the timeslot is being used to pass data. Voice traffic is indicated by
the display of signalling bits in an ABCD format, depending upon application. A
letter (A, B, C, or D) indicates a logic “high” or one, while an underscore indicates
a logic “low” or zero.
To Bus: (display field) Displays the PCM signaling bit status (per ATT Technical Reference 43801) in the
direction of the DXC-100 backplane. N/A indicates that the timeslot has not been
mapped. Data indicates that the timeslot is being used to pass data. Voice traffic is
indicated by the display of signaling bits in an ABCD format, depending upon
application. A letter (A, B, C, or D) indicates a logic “high” or one, while an
underscore indicates a logic “low” or zero.
4.8 Utilities Menu
The Utilities Menu provides access to three submenus from which you can
perform a Cold Reset, a Warm Reset, or change the module’s status to In Service or
Out of Service.

A Cold Reset takes approximately 30 seconds and a Warm Reset takes
approximately 15 seconds. Both will cause data to be briefly interrupted; use a
Warm Reset for minimum interruption.
