Configuring Port Control Mode
CONTROL port of ASMi-52L operates in one of the following modes:
• Terminal – direct connection to the control terminal (DCE mode) or to modem
(DTE mode)
• Dial-out – connection to dial-out modem for alarm reporting
• SLIP – connection to management station via Serial Line Internet Protocol.
Currently connection to ASMi-52L via SLIP is disabled.

To configure port control mode:
1. From the Port Control menu, select Port Control.
The Port Control Mode menu appears (see Figure 4-13).

2. From the Port Control Mode menu, select desired operation mode.
The Port Control menu appears.
3. From the Port Control menu, select Save to save the change.
Configuring Pop-up Alarms and Security Timeout
Pop-up alarms and security timeout are configured via Terminal menu.

To access Terminal menu:
• From the Port Control menu, select Terminal.
The Terminal menu appears (see Figure 4-14).
