Description
The DLP-IO8 Data Acquisition Module is a low-cost, easy-
to-use data acquisition system for measuring voltages,
controlling and monitoring processes, and acquiring
temperature data. Each of the 8 available channels can be
configured for any ot the digital, analog, or temperature
modes via single-byte commands. All operational power is
taken from the host PC via the USB port.
FTDI EVAL232R SERIAL TO USB EVALUATION MODULE
The EVAL232R is a USB to RS232 development and
evaluation module for the FT232RL IC device. Additional
header pins on the board provide access to the FT232RL
device's configurable CBUS interface pins. Powered from
USB, the EVAL232R supports both 5V and 3V level IO
interface voltage on the CBUS via a jumper setting. Full
RTS/CTS and DTR/DSR hardware handshaking are
supported. DCD and RI are also available. Data transfer
rates from 300 baud to 1 mega baud at RS232 levels.
LEDs are fitted to indicate activity on the FT232RL's TXD
and RXD lines, thus showing when the module is
transmitting or receiving data.

Description
FTDI UM232R USB SERIAL MODULE
The UM232R module is a USB - Serial UART
(TTL) development module for the FT232R IC
device. The UM232R is supplied on a PCB
designed to fit a 24 pin DIP socket and provides
access to all UART and CBUS interface pins of
the FT232R device. The UM232R can be
configured as either USB bus-powered or self-
powered and also supports 5V or 3V level
interface IOs via two sets of jumper setting pins.
Full hardware handshaking is supported
and the UM232R can communicate
at up to 3MBaud at TTL/CMOS levels.
FTDI UM245R USB FIFO MODULE
The UM245R can be configured as either USB bus-powered or self-powered and also supports 5V or 3V level
interface IOs via two sets of jumper setting pins. The UM245R can transfer data at up to 1 MegaByte per second.
Ideal for rapid prototyping and development of FT245R designs, an attractive quantity discount structure also makes
this module suitable for incorporation into low/medium volume finished product designs.
FTDI MM232R MODULE
The MM232R is a mini development module for the
FT232RQ IC device. It is a little bigger than a USB
connector and provides USB - Serial UART interface
in a extremely small form factor. It is ideal for new
development purposes, and also for adding a USB
interface to existing product designs. Based on the
FT232RQ device, the MM232R supports RTS/CTS
hardware handshaking and is powered from the USB
port. Serial data communication is possible at up to
3MBaud at TTL level. In addition, some of the
EEPROM configurable CBUS pins of the FT232R
are brought out allowing the MM232R to be used to
provide clock signals to external logic. Two 1x4 and
one 2x4 board headers with a standard 0.1" pitch
are supplied with the MM232R to allow for rapid
prototyping and development.

FTDI UC232R "CHIPI" USB TO RS232 CABLE
The UC232R "ChiPi" USB to RS232 converter is an evaluation cable for the FT232R. It utilizes
the minimum number of components required for a basic USB - RS232 converter designed
using the FT232RL. Using the FT232R with an RS232 level converter and a few capacitors,
the ChiPi is a CE and FCC approved module that is one of the simplest USB - RS232 solutions
around. Using a standard DB9 connector and powered from the USB port, the ChiPi can
be used with the VCP drivers to provide a COM port on a PC which is capable of
communicating with RS232 devices at up to 250kBaud.

FTDI MORPH-IC FPGA BASED MODULE
The FTDI Morph-IC module combines the flexibility of the
FT2232C interface together with an Altera ACEX 1K series FPGA
in a compact ready to use module. The power and IO pins of the
module are brought out onto 2 x 20-pin, 0.1in pitch headers on
the underside of its PCB, allowing easy connection to the pins.
The module can also be plugged into a PCB using readily
available mating connectors (two supplied). Morph-IC uses the
Multi Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE) interface of
the FT2232C to program/reprogram the FPGA over USB in a
fraction of a second. No external FPGA programmer or serial
EEPROM devices are required to use Morph-IC. The module is
powered directly from the USB port and so does not require an
external power supply. Morph-IC comes complete with a CD
containing USB drivers, a Windows interface DLL with example
code in several different programming languages. A full demo
project is included, demonstrating how to use and interface to the
module. VHDL source code and application software code (in
Delphi) is included. Linux drivers and a Linux loader program
are also included for those who are interested in alternative
operating systems. The package also includes a Quartus II
Software Starter Suite CD courtesy of Altera, which contains
software for simulation and synthesis of the on-board FPGA, so
no other software is required for FPGA development.

FTDI USB TO TTL SERIAL CONVERTER CABLE
The new TTL-232R is a USB - TTL serial converter cable
which will allow for a simple way to connect serial TTL
level devices to USB.
The TTL-232R uses a FT232RQ chip which is housed
within the USB "A" connector. A 1.8 meter (6 foot) cable is
terminated with a 6 way 0.1" pitch header socket which
provides access to the Transmit (Tx), Receive (Rx), RTS#,
and CTS#, as well as VCC (5V) and GND
