Fit Test Apparatuses and Accessories
3M equipment (FT-10, FT-20,
FT-30 and replacement
supplies) and procedures
provide a simple, direct way to
help meet OSHA qualitative fit
testing requirements. These
products can be used with any
particulate or gas/vapor respirator with a particulate pre-filter
to test face-to-respirator seal. The equipment helps satisfy
respiratory program requirements, and is easy to use during
respiratory training.
The fit test works by spraying a sweet or bitter solution into
the hood environment. If the wearer does not detect the test
agent’s taste, an acceptable fit has been demonstrated.
