TROUBLESHOOTING (cont.)
SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
The main burner
does not light and the
igniter is sparking
1. Gas is not reaching the
appliance
2. Air in gas line
3. ON/OFF switch on surround
is in off position
1. Check the gas supply and gas shut-off valve.
2. Purge gas line of air (contact a qualifi ed professional service
technician if required).
3. Refer to LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS section regarding proper
lighting.
Nothing happens
when the appliance is
turned on/off
1. Gas is not reaching the
appliance
2. Appliance is not receiving
power
3. ON/OFF switch on surround
is in off position
4. The unit is in Thermostat or
Smart Thermostat mode
1. Check the gas supply and gas shut-off valve.
2. Check/replace batteries in remote receiver and remote
transmitter (see BATTERY REPLACEMENT section).
Check that power supply cord is properly plugged in. Check
building circuit breaker. Check control module power switch
to ensure power is on (Refer to the wiring diagram in the
SPECIFICATIONS AND DIMENSIONS section of this manual
for module appearance and location).
3. Refer to LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS section regarding proper
lighting.
4. Use remote transmitter to change mode as desired (see
REMOTE OPERATING section).
No spark at pilot
1. See previous causes / actions
above.
2. Pilot bracket is grounding
with burner
1. See previous causes / actions above.
2. Bend bracket away from burner to prevent contact.
Light does not work
1. Appliance is not receiving
power
2. Bulb has burned out
1. Check that power supply cord is properly plugged in. Check
building circuit breaker. Check control module power switch
to ensure power is on (Refer to the wiring diagram in the
SPECIFICATIONS AND DIMENSIONS section of this manual
for module appearance and location).
2. Replace bulb (see LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT section).
Fan does not work
1. Appliance is not receiving
power
1. Check that power supply cord is properly plugged in. Check
building circuit breaker. Check control module power switch
to ensure power is on (Refer to the wiring diagram in the
SPECIFICATIONS AND DIMENSIONS section of this manual
for module appearance and location).
Remote receiver does
not respond to remote
transmitter
1. Receiver batteries are dead
2. Remote system is not synced
3. System is in lock-out mode
1. Check/replace batteries in remote receiver (see BATTERY
REPLACEMENT section).
2. See SYNCHRONIZE REMOTE SYSTEM section to sync.
3. Disconnect power supply cord for 5 minutes to reset. Then
plug back in, and perform sync (see SYNCHRONIZE REMOTE
SYSTEM section).
