2. An air shutter is located beneath each burner. Reference
the ANNUAL CLEAN/INSPECTION section for details on
accessing the front/rear burner. Rear burner shown here.
3. Remove the ember screen (if applicable) and left and right
fl oor panels. See fi gure on previous page, "A" and "B".
4. Remove the grate. Then remove the 2 hex screws found
on the ends of the rear burner using a

/

" nut driver.
See Fig. 52-1, "C" and "D".
5. Remove burner by sliding it to the right, so that the venturi
tube clears the orifi ce, then fully out. See Fig. 52-2, "E".
Note: When removing a burner with a wire adjustment
handle, be sure the handle comes out with the burner.
6. Use a

" nut driver to loosen the air shutter screw, and
adjust as needed. Be certain to re-tighten the screw when
done. See Fig. 52-3.
More air will result in shorter fl ames and less color, less
air will result in bigger fl ames and more color.
Note: Make adjustments in
1
/
8
" increments. Very small
changes result in major changes in fl ame appearance.
Note: Do not completely tighten the screw on burners
equipped with a wire adjustment handle, as doing so
will prevent the wire handle from functioning.
7. Repeat this process for the front burner, if applicable/
required. Then properly replace the burner(s).
Note: When replacing a burner with a wire adjustment
handle, you will need to fi rst place the wire into the
hole found on the bottom front of the unit, then rotate
the burner into place (see Fig. 52-4).
8. Ignite the burner and observe the fl ames. If required, repeat
the adjustment process until the proper fl ame is achieved.
9. Be sure to properly re-install all appliance components.
