INSTALLATION (cont.)
GLASS PANEL
When handling the glass panel, be sure to wear clean
non-marking gloves to ensure a clean fi nish and avoid any
fi ngerprints.
Important: When installing the glass panel, ensure that
no media, objects, or debris exist along the
bottom of the unit that may obstruct/damage
the glass panel. See Fig. 35-1.
1. The bottom of the glass panel has two tabs. Insert the
tabs into the two slots found on the bottom of the unit.
See Fig. 35-1, "A".
2. With the bottom of the panel in place, rotate the panel
upward until it closes. Then pull the spring latches (found
on the top of the unit) out and over the two tabs found on
the top of the panel. See Fig. 35-2, "B".
INITIAL AIR SHUTTER ADJUSTMENT
Each installation requires burner air shutter adjustment to
ensure optimal fl ame appearance. Refer to the SERVICING
AND CLEANING - AIR SHUTTER ADJUSTMENT section for
details.
Important: For D1-30 and D1-36 models, only the rear
burner requires adjustment.
SURROUND AND BARRIER SCREEN
When handling the surround and barrier screen components,
be sure to wear clean non-marking gloves to ensure a clean
fi nish and avoid any fi ngerprints.
1. Slide the unit a few inches forward in the fi replace (to
assist in the surround installation).
2. The rear of the surround has 4 hooks. Insert the hooks
into the four slots found on the front of the unit. Ensure the
surround fi rmly rests down in place. See Fig. 35-3, "C".
Note: The ON/OFF switch on the unit must be installed
during the installation of the surround. Disconnect
the switch from its wires, route the wires through the
hole found on the left side-panel of the surround,
reconnect the wires, and snap the switch into place.
