REFRACTORY PANELS
CAUTION: Prior to proceeding with panel installation,
the insert must be installed in the fi replace,
the venting system must be attached, the
electrical must be connected, the gas line
must be connected, and the initial burner
operation must be checked.
Important: Use care when handling and installing the
refractory panels to prevent damage to the
fi nish.
Prior to panel placement:
1. Remove the glass panel (wear gloves). For removal
reference the SERVICING & CLEANING, GLASS
PANEL REMOVAL section.
2. Remove the lintel found at the top front of the unit (to
allow for panel placement). Use a

" nut driver to
remove the two hex screws found on each side of the
lintel. See Fig. 29-1.
3. Remove the grate. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove
the two screws found on each side of the grate. Then
remove the front fl oor panel. See Fig. 29-2.
4. Remove the ember screen. Remove the 2/4 hex screws
found on the ends of the burner(s) using a

" nut
driver (see Fig. 29-3).
Note: D1-25 models will only have one burner, and will
not have an ember screen.
5. Remove the burner by sliding it to the right, so that
the venturi tube clears the orifi ce, then fully out (see
Fig. 29-4). Repeat for the second burner if applicable.
Panel placement:
6. Place the rear panel at the rear of the unit. It will rest
on the shelf found on the lower rear of the unit. See
Fig. 29-5, "A".
7. Place the left panel on the left side of the unit. Ensure
it completely rests inside of the front lip of the unit. See
Fig. 29-5, "B".
