10. Remove the vent adapter from the top of the insert.
Unfasten the two hex bolts using a

/

" nut driver and
slide the adapter out (see Fig. 25-1, J). Retain the bolts
for future install.
11. Remove any excess slack in the pipes. Then attach the
pipes to the vent adapter using only the four provided #10
x

/
4
" screws, fl at washers, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Further secure with the supplied pipe clamps. See
Fig. 25-2, K.
Important: Ensure the marked / up arrow pipe is
connected to the exhaust port on the insert.
The vent adapter is permanently marked,
see Fig. 25-2.
12. Pack tightly insulation (not included) in fi replace around
pipes at damper area (inside bottom of chimney), ash
trap, gas line access, holes, and any air openings, etc.
See Fig. 25-3, L.
Air Restrictor (if applicable)
The air restrictor must be installed into the insert if the
length of the vent run is 20' or more. This will ensure proper
air fl ow and optimal fl ame appearance, and prevent on/off
cycling of the burner system.
To install, insert the restrictor (fl at side down) into the
exhaust opening found on the top of the insert as shown
in Fig. 25-4, M.
Important: Ensure the air restrictor is fully pushed down
into the hole so that it will not interfere with
the later install of the vent adapter.
CAUTION: The exhaust opening is the left hole found
on the top of the insert.
