Proper log placement is important to ensure proper performance of the gas burner system.
Be sure to follow the log placement instructions carefully, referring to the
gures where appropriate.
16/18" LOG SETS
PLACEMENT OF BOTTOM LOGS
1. Place the rear bottom log (#2) on the back of the grate and center it side to side. Be sure that the notches
in the bottom of the log rest securely over the grate fi ngers. There must be a clearance between the rear
log and the pilot assembly located on the right side of the burner. See Fig. 8-1 and 8-2. Place the front
bottom log (#1) on the front part of the grate and center it side to side. Be sure that the notches in the
bottom and front of the log rest securely over the grate fi ngers. See Fig. 8-2.
2. Place the middle logs (#3 and #4) so that they
rest on the bottom logs as shown in Fig. 8-3.

the grooves and notches located on the bottom
logs.

3. Complete log placement by securing the top
center log (#7) over the grooves and notches
located on the middle logs (see Fig. 8-4).

CAUTION: BURN HAZARD! Logs will remain hot for some time after use. You must maintain the log
layout as shown to ensure proper operation of your log set. If you need to reposition any
log to maintain the proper layout, use heat-resistant gloves or allow logs adequate time to
cool before handling.
