5. Wipe the transmitter with a clean cloth
or towel, and then allow the transmitter
to air-dry. The transmitter can also be
rinsed with water, if required to in the
manufacturer’s instructions.
6. Inspect the piercing contacts on the
transmitter. The contacts must be gold
in color and not bent or out of alignment.
If the piercing contacts are NOT gold in
color or are bent out of alignment,
discard the transmitter.
7. Close the clamps on the transmitter
8. Place the clean transmitter in a storage
container for future use.
To clean an Umbilical Cord transmitter
after use:
1. After each use, clean according to your
facility’s infection control procedures.
2. In addition, scrub each transmitter
independently until there are no signs of
blood, body fluids, or material on the
transmitter.
3. Pay special attention to all surfaces of
the transmitter clamp post.
4. Allow transmitters to air dry.
