The QWIC Performance RD10 Speed conforms with the
latest L1eB type approval. With this manual you have
received a cercate of conformity (COC).
Please keep this cercate of conformity (COC)
safe, you need this document to get a license
plate or insurance for example.
As the speed pedelec has been categorized as moped
in the EU, most member states apply the following
requirements:
Helmet obligaon
Most member states of the European union, if not all,
have compulsory helmet wear for mopeds. However,
moped helmets are heavy and oer insucient
venlaon to be comfortable for speed pedelec
users. For this reason some countries have issued
specic helmet rules. The Netherlands, for example,
have issued a new norm for a speed pedelec helmet.
Speed pedelec users are obliged to use a special speed
pedelec helmet that conforms NTA 8776.

What is a speed pedelec?
‘Pedelec’ is a term that describes a bicycle with a motor
that only funcons on condion the cyclist pedals.
Pedelecs with a speed limit of 25 km/h are categorized
as normal bicycles in the EU.
The Performance RD10 Speed is a so-called ‘speed
pedelec’ and has been specically designed for higher
speeds up to 45 km/h. Speed pedelecs are categorized
as mopeds in the EU. In comparison to normal pedelecs
there are a few important regulaons to consider
before taking the bike on the road. If you have any
